TASTE TAURANGA TAPAS TRAIL

Four of our city’s iconic bars are bringing you a bespoke menu to suit the tastes of those who love a great craft beer and tapas to match as part of Taste Tauranga this August!

Get a group of friends together and enjoy the craft tapas trail on a Sunday afternoon on The Strand. Here’s a peek at some of the flavours you have to look forward to….

Start your trail at CBK Craft Bar Kitchen in the Red Square where you will recieve a Good George Pilsner and hear from owner Billy about the journey of this popular craft beer and how it is paired perfectly with CBK smoked, hand crafted street food.

Head to the infamous Cornerstone Bar & Eatery where you’ll meet Jared from Whakatane’s Mata Brewery and enjoy matching their +64 Pale Ale with a trio of tapas including beef bulgoni, marinated teriyaki chicken wings and Welsh glamorgan sausage – a delicious vegetarian potato and cheese croquette served with cranberry sauce.

Your next stop will be at The Crown and Badger where you’ll be served Moroccan spiced pulled lamb shoulder with haloumi, eggplant and harissa yoghurt slider and a herb roasted portobello mushroom with rocket, haloumi and romesco sauce slider, matched with Emerson’s Hazed & Confused IPA.

End your tapas trail at The Hop House on Wharf Street where you’ll be treated to a warmed chocolate brownie with malt cream, ambrosia, blackberry compote, vanilla poached tamarillo and local Jersey Cow caramel ice-cream matched with a chocolate stout.
